Program 2: Film Challenge Day Description: Film Challenge Day is A Free, Immersive Filmmaking Education Program Serving Children and Youth Ages 518, Primarily From Underserved Communities. Through Hands-on Instruction, Mentorship From Professional Filmmakers, and Collaborative Team-based Projects, Participants Learn The Fundamentals of Storytelling and Filmmaking While Developing Creative Confidence and Finding Their Voice Through Visual Storytelling. Participants Work Together to Write, Film, and Edit Short Films Within A Limited Timeframe, Culminating In A Red-carpet Premiere At A Professional Theater Venue. Meals Are Provided to Support Participant Engagement Throughout The Program Day and to Ensure A Safe, Supportive Learning Environment. The Program is Designed to Remove Financial Barriers and Provide Equitable Access to Creative Education and Mentorship. Persons Benefited: Approximately 125 Participants.
