SERENITY PASTORAL COUNSELING
EIN 87-2392930 · Mental Health Associations (F80)
What they do
In 2025, We Were Able to Provide More Than 1100 Hours of Counseling to More Than 58 Clients. More Than 44 Percent of Our Hours Were Completed With Those Benefited By Our Client Assistance Fund and Sliding Scale. We Have Maintained The Highest Levels of Accountability In Our Funding By Keeping Separate Accounts for Operations and Client Assistance, With Donations Only Going Into The Client Assistance Fund and Once-monthly Withdrawals to Fund The Individual Counseling Needs of Our Clients. All Other Fees and Bills Flow Through The Operating Account. Our Board of Directors Has Been Active In Helping to Build Our Non-profit Through Individual Fund-raising Efforts, Personal Contributions, and The Donation of Their Professional Services. As Our Fifth Full Year of Operations Proceeds, We Are Moving Forward With The Intent to Help Each Client Who Comes to Us With His or Her Counseling Needs, Leaving Each With Healing and Hope.
Should I give to this charity?
Of every $100 spent, about $9.10 was reported for mission work and $0.00 for fundraising. Understand this before you give.
Plain answer: A tax form cannot prove that a charity is doing good. It can show how the charity says it spent its money—and point out questions you should ask.

Money made simple
Ask these three easy questions
- Who did you help? Ask for a recent story or report that shows real results.
- What will my money do? Ask exactly what your gift will pay for.
- Is this really the charity? Give only through its official website or confirmed phone number.
Pay context: The highest compensation shown in this filing is $130,992 for SHELTON DAVIS (EXECUTIVE DIR.). Compare pay with organizations of similar size and complexity.
Bottom line: Do not decide from a name, mission statement, or tax status alone. Look at where the money went, then ask what changed, who was helped, and what your gift will do. YouCanGiveBack does not endorse or grade organizations.
Financial picture
A plain-language look at the latest Form 990 figures available. These numbers help you ask better questions; they do not, by themselves, rate whether a charity is good or bad.
How each $100 of revenue was used
The large number compares each expense with revenue. The smaller number shows its share of total expenses.
Gray means reported revenue left after expenses for this filing year. It does not necessarily mean cash sitting in a bank account.
Pause before giving. This filing reports that 0.0% of spending went to fundraising and 9.1% went to mission work. Ask the charity to explain these numbers and show recent results.
Has the pattern changed?
Colored bars = expense mix: how each year’s expenses were divided. Total expenses vs. revenue shows whether the charity spent less or more than it received. The current filing is first.
