COMMUNITY EDUCATION and OUTREACH: LIA OFFERS A VARIETY of INTERACTIVE FROM INFORMING THE PUBLIC ABOUT THEIR CIVIL RIGHTS and LIBERTIES, MENTAL HEALTH SESSIONS and SUPPORTING FIRST GENERATION STUDENTS ON COLLEGE PATHWAYS. ADDITIONALLY, WE CO-HOST WORKSHOPS WITH IMMIGRATION ATTORNEYS & OTHER PARTNERS ON TOPICS THAT IMPACT THE IMMIGRANT COMMUNITY. THIS YEAR OUR COMMUNITY EDUCATION WORKSHOPS OFFERED FAMILIES THE OPPORTUNITY to LEARN THE NECESSARY SKILLS to BECOME ACTIVE PARTICIPANTS IN THEIR OWN LIVES, AS THEY ARE LED BY PROFESSIONAL and TRAINED FACILITATORS WHO PROVIDED RESOURCES and SUPPORT THAT HAVE HELPED THEM BECOME INFORMED and EMPOWERED. LEGAL RESOURCES and DEFERRED ACTION for CHILDHOOD ARRIVALS (DACA) PRO SE SUPPORT: LIA SUPPORTS DACA RECIPIENTS BY KEEPING THEM INFORMED ABOUT DACA- RELATED DEVELOPMENTS, INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, COURT PROCEEDINGS and POLICY CHANGES.
