THE REFUGE AT FREEDOM RANCH INC
EIN 92-0328534 · Children & Youth Services (P30)
What they do
THE VISION for THE REFUGE AT FREEDOM RANCH is to CREATE A THERAPEUTIC ENVIRONMENT BY PAIRING HORSES and OTHER FARM ANIMALS WITH AT-RISK YOUTH FROM THE SURROUNDING COUNTIES of SOUTHWEST VIRGINIA. WE BELIEVE THAT THE NATURAL BEAUTY AT FREEDOM RANCH PROVIDES AN IDEAL SETTING for FINDING PEACE and RESTORATION for THOSE IN NEED. WE ALSO PLAN to UTILIZE OUR INCREDIBLE PROPERTY IN FLOYD and CARROLL COUNTIES to EMPOWER CHILDREN FROM DRUG-ADDICTED FAMILIES THROUGH HORSEMANSHIP and RANCH SKILLS. OUR LONG-TERM VISION is to SUPPORT ANY CHILDREN IN FUTURE WHO HAVE THE DESIRE to PARTICIPATE IN HORSEMANSHIP COMPETITIONS (PARTICULARLY REINED COW HORSE).
Should I give to this charity?
Basic public information is available, but it is not enough to judge how well donations are used. Ask the charity for a current spending breakdown and results.
Plain answer: A tax form cannot prove that a charity is doing good. It can show how the charity says it spent its money—and point out questions you should ask.

Money made simple
Ask these three easy questions
- Who did you help? Ask for a recent story or report that shows real results.
- What will my money do? Ask exactly what your gift will pay for.
- Is this really the charity? Give only through its official website or confirmed phone number.
Bottom line: Do not decide from a name, mission statement, or tax status alone. Look at where the money went, then ask what changed, who was helped, and what your gift will do. YouCanGiveBack does not endorse or grade organizations.
