Majete Wildlife Reserve K9 Anti-Poaching Program. In 2025, DSC Executed Its Flagship Majete Wildlife Reserve K9 Anti-Poaching Program In Partnership With Local Conservation Authorities At Majete Wildlife Reserve In Malawi, Africa. DSC Procured Two Trained Anti-poaching Detection Dogs From K9 Genesis, A Specialized Canine Training Firm In South Africa, and Coordinated Their Transport and Deployment to Majete. On-the-ground Training, Handling, and Program Management Was Performed By DSCs Field Consultants Sam Madalane and John King. The Program Also Included Multiple Site Visits By DSC Leadership for Program Oversight, Stakeholder Engagement, and Coordination With Malawian Wildlife Authorities. The K9 Units Are Deployed to Support Ranger Patrols and Deter Poaching Activity Targeting Rhinoceroses and Other Endangered Species Within The Reserve.
