NOURISH MADAGASCAR
EIN 92-1910752 · Congregate Meals (K34)
What they do
Our Focus is to Nourish The Children of Rural Madagascar. The Program Has Four Components: 1 School Lunches During The Lean Season 2 Access to Sanitary Facilities 3 Training In Nutrition and Safe Food Handling and 4 The Growers Program. The School Lunch Program Runs Each Year From February to May During The Hunger Season That Coincides With Their Planting Cycle. We Run After The Crops Have Been Planted and Communities Have Expended All Their Resources. Fresh Water and Sanitation Access is Ensured At Each School By Constructing Wells Near The Cooking Facilities. WASH-style Training is Given to Children to Ensure Cleanly Practices Before Eating. We Provide Extensive Community Training Sessions In The Months Before Each Program Begins Covering Food-borne Illnesses Sanitary Techniques and Leadership Skills for Local Committee Members. Finally We Work With Local Growers to Break The Cycle of Scarcity In Local Food Markets.
