THE WORK of THE ORGANIZATION is WELL DESCRIBED AS A SINGLE PROGRAM to ADVOCATE for THE LIVING NAPA RIVER and to EDUCATE THE COMMUNITY ABOUT THE RIVER and ITS WATERSHED. THIS HAS BEEN THE MISSION of FRIENDS of THE NAPA RIVER for THE 30+ YEARS of OUR ORGANIZATIONAL EXISTENCE. WE WERE ACTIVE IN THE CITY of NAPAS UPDATE of ITS GENERAL PLAN and ITS PLAN for THE OXBOW DISTRICT, BOTH of THESE IN OUR FOCUS ON THE NAPA RIVER. WE CONTINUE to BE ACTIVELY INVOLVED IN THE NAPA RIVER FLOOD CONTROL PROJECT and ARE ALSO ACTIVELY PARTICIPATING IN THE NEW NAPA RIVERLINE PROJECT. DURING THE YEAR, WE CONTINUED to MONITOR RIVERFRONT ISSUES and to COLLABORATE WITH THE NAPA COUNTY RESOURCE CONSERVATION DISTRICT (RCD) to IMPROVE SALMON RESTORATION IN OUR RIVER and CREEKS. WE ARE ACTIVE SUPPORTERS of THE NAPA RVER ECOLOGY CENTER IN AMERICAN CANYON.
