THE MUSICAL THEATRE GUILD (MTG) BEGAN IN JANUARY 1995. A GROUP of 14 ACTORS and SINGERS MET to CREATE A GUILD for MUSICAL THEATRE ARTISTS, A FORUM WHERE THEY CAN SHOWCASE THEIR TALENTS and PRESENT SELDOM-PRODUCED MUSICALS AT HOMES. FROM 1997 THROUGH 2025, 2-5 CONCERT STAGE READINGS WERE PRESENTED to THE PUBLIC EACH SEASON ON A REGULAR BASIS and MTG BEGAN to RECEIVE ACCOLADES FROM SOUTHERN CALIFORNIAS THEATRICAL PRESS.IN 2006, MTG RECEIVED THE LA DRAMA CRITICS CIRLES MARGARET HARFORD AWARD for "SUSTAINED EXCELLENCE IN THEATRE". IN 2022, WE WERE HONORED AT THE 35TH ROBBY AWARDS for THE PRODUCTION of "IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN YOU" PERFORMED IN 2020.IN 2023, OUR PERFORMANCE of "BRIGADOON" RECEIVED THE 36TH ROBBY AWARD for BEST ACTRESS and BEST SUPPORTING ACTRESS IN A MUSICAL.THE GUILDS ARTISTS ARE A DIVERSE GROUP of ALL AGES and ETHNICITIES, and PARTICIPATION FROM A FULL RANGE of CULTURAL GROUPS is ACTIVELY ENCOURAGED.
