Advised By Our Founding Farmers, Five Women From East Africa With 15 Years of Farming Experience, We Share Urban Agriculture Education By Restoring and Operating The Orchard and Urban Garden At The Peace Resource Center. In The Past Year We Have Hosted Over 200 Unique Volunteers to Learn Skills In Seed Starting, Composting, Companion Planting, Soil Ammendment, Fruit Tree Pruning, and Irrigation. All Food Grown At The Farm is Donated to Volunteers, Mutual Aid Programs, and Foodbanks Around San Diego. Program Funds Have Been Used to Rehabilitate This Garden Which Has Lain Dormant for Over 7 Years. Funds Were Used to Test Soil for Heavy Metals Before Planting, Test The Reclaimed Water System for Contaminants, Replace Irrigation Lines In The Orchard, Purchase Upgrades to A Broken Reclaimed Wataer Pump, Buy Raised Beds and Organic Topsoil, and Purchase Seeds and Starts for The Farm. AUAC Has Also Partnered With Imperial Beach Charter School to Rennovate Their Schoolyard Garden. AUAC Helped
