The West Highland Historical Foundation is A Non-profit Corporation Whose Definitive Purpose is to Restore and Reform The Historical African American West Highland High School Located In Fayette, AL. Our Goal is to Transform What is Now A Diminished and Overlooked Historical Facility, Into A Community Wide Recreational Center, By Raising Funds and By Applying for Grants. By Restoring The West Highland High School Into A County-wide Recreational Center, We Can Supply Fayette County With A Variety of Outlets That Serve A Greater Purpose. Providing Programs That Will Deter Our Community From Turning to Crime and Drugs, Elevated Teenage Pregnancy Rates, Unemployment, and Ultimately Providing Relief for The Poor and Under-privileged. The West Highland High School is In One of The Poorest Areas In The County. We Plan to Incorporate A Museum That Will Focus On The Educational Struggles of African Americans and Promote A Tourist Attraction. We Also Plan to Offer Amateur Sports Activities.
