BWB Successfully Conducted Its Primary Service Activity Consisting of An Annual Week-long Trip to The Dominican Republic By More Than 30 High School Students Who Attend School and Play Varsity Baseball At Various High Schools In Washington DC Along With Several High School Coaches and Accompanied By Adult Chaperones Including High School Administrators and Parents. The US Participants Were Provided With Extensive Opportunities to Engage In Service Activities Painting Building and Repairing Homes Mixing and Pouring Concrete Floors Interacting With Children At An Orphanage for Severely Disabled Children and Other Service Activities; to Interact and Play Baseball Games With Local Dominican Youth; and to Engage In Other Social and Cultural Activities While In The DR. Most US Participants Paid The Direct Cost of Their Participation In The Trip While Some With Financial Need Received Full or Partial Fee Waivers.
