Afghan Advantage Builds A Bridge From Literacy to Leadership-From Isolation to Participation. 504 Student Slots, With 126 Graduates Annually. 89% Average Mastery of Functional English/math/digital Literacy On Final Exams and 75% Increase In Confidence and Life Skills Necessary to Leave Home Alone and Engage In Public Life. AA+ is Led By New Americans, Educated Afghan Women, for Women Who Are Pre-literate/low Literacy In Their Native Language of Dari or Pashto, Non-English Proficient, & Socially Isolated. Pods Literacy Consists of 4 Phonics-based Modules Offered Quarterly to Prepare Students for Community College ESL Level 1. Plus A Monthly Online Seminar and In-person Field Trip On Digital Literacy, Employment, and Education. AA+ Programs Provide A Critical Literacy Bridge So Students Can Access Community Resources and Participate Fully In Public Life In The US. Builds Self-reliance With Confidence and Skills to Pursue Education, Employment, and New Opportunities.
